I am a problem solver, which is at the core of being an Experience Designer.
Having studied both UX and UI Visual Design throughout 2020/21, I can take a project from research through to analysis and conceptualising to the final design.
UI Visual Design is what really makes me tick, I love colour, typography and layout. And it really compliments my creative Art Direction skills.
-
Branding & Personality
Understanding how to infuse a brand’s personality into a design, and how it affects the User Experience, is core to User Interface Design. I reviewed the competitors and gathered references in order to create mood boards to look in depth at the brand core values. I created the branding from these mood boards: the name, the logo, Icons and bank cards.
-
Layout & Design elements
Balance and order in an interface layout improves the User Experience. I created responsive layouts that worked across mobile, tablet and desktop screens. All working across an 8pt grid system for unity. To enhance my designs I studied design principles such as: Proximity, Grouping, Similarity, Symmetry, Continuation, Closure, Affordance and Visual hierarchy and proportion.

Typography, Colours & Interactions
The Art Director in me feels passionate about both Typography and colour and the impact they have on designs. Typography is a core feature of an interface design, from navigation and headings to labels and hyperlinks. Colour, shape and elements can aid communication and usability. I also studied all types of Interactivity including: navigation, input controls, forms, components and animations.

From Research
Research is key to the UX Design process in order to understand the users problems that need solving. I held Usability Tests, conducted in-depth interviews, created Competitive Benchmark reviews, and Online Surveys.
-
To Analysis
I took the unstructured data and made it structured by analysing my research. I conducted Affinity Diagrams and created Customer Journey Maps.
-
To conceptualising
In order to solve the problems users face when booking a flight, I created a Flow Diagram and sketched Interactions and Navigational designs.
-
To Designing
Finally, with the knowledge of how the user could benefit from the concept, I designed the solution by building an Interactive Prototype, and annotated my wireframes to create a handover document for developers.
