My Creative Comeback experience.

The two week intensive programme was created by Creative Equals to get Advertising creatives back into the industry after a career break.

My application included work on a World Vegan Day brief, which won me one of 30 places on the Creative Comeback Course.

The lucky 30

The lucky 30

The course was hosted by D&AD and Facebook, and the first week involved many talks and workshops on the latest digital technology, the jobs market now, ideas, strategies & presentations from experts in their fields.

The second week was spent in a team of three, I was put with Jessie Jenkins a Lead Graphic & Web Designer and Catherine Laz a senior Copywriter. We worked on a live Baileys brief set by Eileen Hanna Yague of Diageo, in MRM McCann overseen by Creative Directors James Thorley & Andrew Pogson. We had three days to come up with a campaign to answer the brief and show how our ideas transferred into social and digital platforms.

On the last day we presented our campaign idea to a room of all 11 agencies on the programme:  Adam & Eve, Anomaly, Blue Latitude, Geometry, MRM McCann, Momentum, Ogilvy, Publicis Groupe, VMLY&R, We are social and Wunderman Thompson.

You can see my Baileys campaign here.

Thanks to Creative Equals and their Creative Comeback 2020 programme.

This course has given me the confidence to know that I can still come up with ideas, and remember that it’s what I love doing. I have also discovered that I am ready and capable to embrace digital platforms.

A massive thank you to Ali, Emma, Corina and Rachel of Creative Equals who made all this, and our Creative Comeback possible.

And also thank you to © Bronac McNeill for the Creative Comeback photographs.
